Conducts and ensures completion of projects which require the writing of staff studies, decision and information papers, local policy, local directives, and related correspondence. Responsible for establishing maintenance policy that affects units assigned to Fort Polk and management of the Command Maintenance Management Program. Through verbal and written reports, keeps operations and needs, accomplishments, proposed projects, and status of equipment and manpower to accomplish specific projects and programs, and to meet maintenance mission goals. overall Attends staff meetings and participates in discussions concerning the overall operations and makes recommendations on matters involving the Maintenance. As required represents the ACofS, G4 at meetings, and/or conferences for the purpose of providing input relative to any planning, evaluation, or mission requirements. Assists the ACofS, G4 in making policy revisions and/or developing new policy, as required, to enhance logistics operations. Analyzes maintenance support activities and makes recommendations for improvement of and changes in the maintenance program operations. Serve as technical advisor to the Assistant Chief of Staff, G4 and teams with the Logistics Readiness Center (LRC) and contractor to ensure the CTC fleet equipment is maintained per FORSCOM standards and available to support the Rotational Training Unit requirements. Coordinates with shops and outside units and activities. Ensures proper accountability of shop property and equipment. Determines specific services, shop equipment and tools required and takes appropriate action to acquire facilities, tools, special test equipment, and parts to accomplish ground equipment maintenance and support missions. Incumbent must be familiar with tactical Army organizations, types of equipment, techniques, and logistics management. Coordinates and arranges for a variety of maintenance sites, facilities, equipment and tools to meet the logistical, administrative, and maintenance support requirements and tactical equipment mission. Provides technical assistance, advice, and instructions concerning maintenance, and use of materials and equipment. Plans, coordinates, and oversees field and sustainment maintenance for the JRTC CTC fleet. Work efforts are coordinated with staff elements prior to submission of final product.ġ. Situations may require informational and formal contacts with Directorate management and staff, installation leadership and staff, major subordinate commands, higher headquarters, and agencies. Duties performed are in support of the Assistant Chief of Staff, G4, Maintenance Operational elements and all other Installation Logistics staff elements. Coordinate actions which require an in-depth knowledge of the property accountability, requirements generation, and maintenance support operations for equipment assigned to tenant units on the installation and in support of rotational mission. Incumbent is responsible for planning, coordinating and overseeing contract operations for the Field and Sustainment maintenance of the JRTC CTC Training Fleet (PREPO) Fleet in support of the Rotational Training Unit). Serves as the Command Maintenance Management Specialist for JRTC and Fort Polk.
